1. Estimates
1.1 Any estimate provided is based on visible damage only and is therefore provisional.
1.2 Additional damage may be discovered once panels or components are removed during the repair process.
1.3 If further work or parts are required the customer or insurer will be notified before work continues where possible.
1.4 Estimates do not constitute a binding agreement to undertake the work.
1.5 A charge may apply for detailed estimates where dismantling or significant inspection time is required.
2. Hidden Damage
During the repair process additional damage may be discovered once parts or panels are removed. This damage may not have been visible during the initial inspection. If further work is required to repair the vehicle safely and correctly, Good Guys Bodyshop will notify the customer or insurer before proceeding wherever possible. Additional repairs may affect the final cost and completion time
3. Safety and Repair Restrictions
3.1 Prestige Bodyshop Repairs reserves the right to refuse to carry out work if the requested repair could make the vehicle unsafe or compromise its structural integrity.
3.2 We may also refuse to road test a vehicle if it is presented in a condition that would make it illegal or unsafe to drive on public roads.
4. Subcontracted Work
4.1 Certain specialist repairs may occasionally be carried out by approved third party specialists.
4.2 Good Guys Bodyshop will only use competent and qualified professionals for such services.
5. Replacement Parts
5.1 Any parts removed during the repair become the property of Prestige Good Guys Bodyshop unless the customer requests their return before the repair begins.
5.2 All replacement parts remain the property of Good Guys Bodyshop until full payment for the repair has been received
6. Parts.
6.1 Pre ordered parts will need paying for before ordering.
6.2 Once paid for and parts are ordered they are non refundable
7. Inspection on Collection
The customer is expected to inspect the vehicle upon collection. By taking possession of the vehicle the customer confirms that the repair has been completed to their satisfaction unless any concerns are raised at the time of collection. Any issues relating to the repair should be reported to Good Guys Bodyshop as soon as reasonably possible.
8. Payment Disputes and Terms
8.1 Where payment has been made and the repair has been completed, customers agree to contact Good Guys Bodyshop directly to resolve any concerns before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback with their bank or card provider. Prestige Bodyshop Repairs will make reasonable efforts to resolve any genuine issues relating to the repair.
8.2 Unless agreed otherwise in writing, payment is due on completion and before release of the vehicle. We may retain possession of the vehicle until cleared payment is received, where legally permitted.
8.3 For extensive restoration work an up- front payment may be requested. In addition, weekly ‘interim’ invoice payments may be requested as the work progresses.
9. Data Protection
9.1 We collect and process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
9.2 This includes contact details, vehicle details, and payment records.
10. Liability
10.1 Good Guys Bodyshop will perform all services with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
10.2 Our liability for any claim shall not exceed the value of the service provided, except where prohibited by law.
10.3 We are not liable for:
Indirect or consequential losses (e.g. loss of earnings, car hire, inconvenience). Damage caused by accidents, neglect, misuse, or third-party work after repairs. Delays outside our control (parts shortages, weather, industrial action, supplier delays).
10.4 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
10.5 Good guys bodyshop does not warrant stone chips to panels painted by ourselvesu. Please take care after picking up vehicles.
10.6 Good Guys Bodyshop is not liable for re work if customer has PPF or a wrap put on the car which causes problems to the paint work carried out by ourselves. Please allow at least 1 month before applying these. This also includes ceramic coatings
10.7 Good Guys Bodyshop will take reasonable care of vehicles while in its custody.
10.8 Customers are advised to remove all personal belongings before repairs begin as we cannot accept responsibility for items left inside the vehicle.
10.9 We refuse to accept any liability for damaged caused from the weather or environment, namely paint fading from UV rays, corrosion from exposure to rain, interference from birds and any other issues arising from outdoor storage.
11. Insurance.
11.1 Vehicles left at Good Guys Bodyshop Ltd are covered by our insurance policy, from the time the vehicle has been left on site, whilst the repair is conducted and for a further week upon completion of the repair.
11.1 If you do not collect your vehicle within 1 week of us notifying you the repair is ready, our insurance will NO longer cover you for any theft, damage or other incidents that may arise whilst on our site.
11.2 We do offer an extended policy to cover your vehicle for longer if you need to leave it with us and this is in the form of a storage charge.
11.3 This can be negotiated in the form of a daily, weekly, or monthly fee and we reserve the right to make these charges any time after 1 week
notification from us that your vehicle is ready.
11.4 For work under insurance claims, the policyholder might need to sign insurer documents. Delays caused by insurers are not our responsibility.
12. ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERIES.
12.1Electric cars must be delivered to us fully charged. We DO NOT take any responsibility for battery conditions or failure whilst your vehicle is with us for repair. If we must put any charge into an electric car battery that has been left with us, there will be an immediate £50 surcharge added to your final invoice
13.Insurance Companies:
13.1 To the insurance company once an Authority has been sent by yourself to Good Guys Bodyshop ltd it is a legally binding contract and expect payment as such. We will comply fully with our obligation to which we expect you to comply with yours and pay our outstanding invoice within two weeks of this email. As this is a commercial debt, under the overdue payment of commercial debt (interest) act 1998.
13.2 If you do not uphold your obligations and pay what is due to us, we reserve the right to charge you 8.5% above base rate which would
mean you will be liable for a further 12.5% interest charge for overdue payment.
13.3 We will also be adding storage charges for the duration of time we were held up at a rate of £40 per day ………. days. And any legal expenses we have to incur to retrieve what is owed by you.
13.4 We reserve the right to charge for additional work if it is found and can be evidences with images, time spent and recorded on our system and invoices to support costs incurred.
13.5 Insurance companies have 5 working days to authorise estimates, after 5 working days insurance company will be charged £40 per day (including weekends) until authorisation back dated to the estimate date.
14. Aftercare
14.1 All bodywork repairs are guaranteed for 3 years against faulty workmanship or incorrect application of repair products. Aftercare instructions can be provided by Good Guys Bodyshop Ltd after the repairs are completed and must be followed to ensure the durability of any repairs.
14.2 Exclusion- Corrosion / Previous Repair / Rust
14.3 I acknowledge that corrosion (rust) and or previous poor repairs involves areas of the vehicle that may have hidden or underlying damage not visible until work has begun. I understand that corrosion can continue to spread beyond the affected area and that repairs may reveal additional damage requiring further labour and materials
14.4 Where Good Guys Bodyshop have undertaken work that required wheels to be removed, the nuts will have been replaced using the manufacturers torque setting. It is the owners responsibility to check the wheel nut tightness after 50 miles.
15: Payments:
15.1 For extensive work an up- front payment may be requested. In addition, weekly ‘interim’ invoice payments may be requested as the work progresses.
15.2 Payment is required upon satisfactory completion of repairs and at the point of vehicle collection.
15.3 The preferred method of payment is by bank transfer, cash or credit or debit card
15.4 In the event payment is not forthcoming after 30 days, Good Guys Bodyshop may chose to go through the Small Claims Court and mediation to recover monies owed. One-time charges of £50.00 will be applied for amounts up to £999.99, £85.00 for amounts between £1000 to £10,000 and £120 for amounts over this.
15.5 Alternatively, a debt collection agency may be instructed to recover the outstanding balance, their charges, usually 20% of the amount owed, will be added to the customers invoice along with the onetime charge detailed in section 15.4 above.
Further charges relating to storage of the vehicle may be applied.
15.6 Interest charges at the Current Bank of England base rate may also be applied to the unpaid invoice sent to the owner in the event of non-payment.
15.7 Good Guys Bodyshop reserves the right to retain possession of the Vehicle until all charges relating to the repair have been paid in full.
